Sustainable Finance in Europe under a Swiss-Spanish Perspective

Over the past couple of years, the ties between the economic ecosystems of Spain and Switzerland have become stronger. This is particularly true in the area of finance, since in 2020 there have been various substantial investments in Spain by big Swiss financial companies, which will surely lead to additional investment flows between both countries over the coming years.

The aim of the conference was to explore the synergies that could result from the growing economic ties of the two countries in addressing the need to make the European financial system more digital and sustainable.
In addition, participants in the conference also discussed to what extent current sustainable finance initiatives are contributing effectively to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The event was jointly organised by the Center for Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability at the University of Zurich and the Embassy of Spain in Bern.
